How long would it take to remodel a bathroom and how much do you think it would cost?
Everything would have to be redone, floors, walls, new tub, new sink, probably some plumbing fixed or replaced. Its not a huge bathroom, but a full-sized one, maybe 8×5 or close to that. Also, I wanted a lot of black tile, is there colored grout so that I wouldn’t have to put in the white/grayish grout?

I just had a quote of around $9,000 Australian dollars for the works incl. walls, tiles, bath, shower, vanity, towel rail, taps. plus some remodeling & plumbing girl from oz
I am just finishing this project. My bathroom is small! I”m talking 10′ x 6′. I stripped it down to the sub floor and beams (and even replaced 3 beams behind the shower). The only thing that I did not skimp on was the tile floor (since there is soo little of it) and my water fixtures (had to get a good brand, Delta). Everyting else was done on the cheap. Doing everything myself w/ NO help, it

Took 3 1/2 weeks (I was working 50 hours at work for that time though, I worked a little every night and strong on the weekends).
I must say that I am a novice carpenter and did everyting right, so needless to say I did mess up a few things (like some of the electrical for the new can lighting I put in) which caused me to backtrack. workin man
There are a lot of factors to think about in answering this question. Are you doing all the work yourself? Are you hiring a Remodeling contractor? Are you going to act as your own general contractor and hire the carpenter, plumber, tile guy, and painter?
All these questions affect both the cost and the timeline.
A well planned space, Basic fixtures,Cabinets, tile, mirrors, lighting and completing the work yourself would probably cost 8, 000 - 15,000 Time wise 1 to 2 months.
I would suggest you make a plan ( or hire someone to.) and a complete list of materials and start there. That will be your base price then you can get some estimates on the labor.
Bathrooms are difficult to schedule as just about every trade is involved and since the space is small, only one or two people can be there at anytime without bumping into each other.
Good Luck with your Project rallanmartijr
There seems to be a lot of questions like this in this category. The truth of the matter is that you’ll never get an accurate figure because there’s never going to be an accurate comparison. The reason is that the final cost is dependant on the type of finishes and fixtures that you pick out and that is a moving target. Everyone’s bathroom is different and everyone has different tastes. Prices vary considerably depending on what you pick out. If your doing it yourself, then you’ll have to do some research on the items that you’ll want to establish a budget. If your going with a contractor, consult with him early in the process to get the things you want specified and the price identified. Michael C
