VerdeOjos asked:

Does anyone know a good cleaning agent to remove wax off my bathroom counter? (this is from hot wax from a kit that sat out on the sink and in the hot weather melted!!) I don’t even know where to begin because everything I try to use just sticks to it!

place a cotton cloth over the wax….and iron the cloth on a low heat setting…the heat will melt the wax…and the cloth will soak it up….. Campbell Gramma

Butane (lighter fluid) will take almost anything off of anything. supergrumpers

Well if it is just on the counter then you should just be able to scrape it off. Use something that is plastic so that it doesn’t scratch the surface. Lisa N

Scrape off what you can, you can put ice on it to harden it more so it will scrape off. Than use comet aggie

At the Supermarket you should find a cleaning product that is maybe citrus based, that can clean off wax. The other week I saw a product which claimed it could clean off wax, but I forgot the brand. Keep looking, as I’m sure there is a product out there. Mind you, I live in Australia, and it was probably an Australian product. lemon_sky40

Try BOILING HOT WATER it must be BOILING HOT it should soften or melt the wax enough that you should be able to get a putty knife or a single edge razor blade under it and when you get a edge lifted up keep applying the hot water and scraping.Another option is this chemical that they sell at stores like “home depot” or “Lowe’s” called “goop off” it cones in a yellow can with a red cap and red lettering,I have yet to find something that stuff can’t remove just follow the directions on the can. hjbergel

try using vinegar, it removes so many other things, it may work on wax, too. Hopefully your finish on the counter isn’t ruined from the hot wax!
I’d try scraping off what you can 1st, then try the iron on the cloth to absorb what you can, then the vinegar.
    Good Luck purplemarshmallo

I know this works on candle wax, use your hair dryer to heat it up and wipe it up with a paper towel or tissue. I clean candlesticks and holders like this all the time. Works like a charm! Good luck! angelicsanto
