Is there a product designed for venting a bathroom fan through a metal roof?

Steve Z asked:

I am remodeling my bathroom and would like a fan that will vent through the roof. This is normally not a big deal, but I’m a little unsure how to properly seal the vent to a metal roof. Is there a product designed to do this?
I’ve heard that venting through the soffit is bad because moisture will come back into the attic through the soffit vents. Also regular metal flashing won’t really work because of the ridges in the metal roof. I need a boot that is designed to go aroudn a square roof vent.

MM0529 asked:

I am wondering how much work is involved in moving a sink in my bathroom. If I move it next to the toilet (which is on a different wall than where the sink is right now), how much additional plumbing is required and approximately how much should I expect to pay?

justjen asked:

We are in an old house all of the walls are plaster. my bathroom has this paneling stuff that is peeling off of the walls with like some kind of brown paper under it. what would this be called and can i just tear it all off and paint over the plaster walls?
its not wall paper either, its thicker its almost like plastic texture or something its bendable but it also breaks off it pieces too.

What preparation to use on plywood in bathroom before putting tiles down?

PoorlySpaniel asked:

I have 18mm plywood flooring (just laid) in my bathroom. I was wondering if I need to do anything to the plywood before I stick my tiles down on to it?
Some more information….

The plywood is WBP. It is brand new and laid direct to the joists (not on top of other boards or flooring).

I am concerned about whacking down cement based board on top of the plywood for the reasons cited by one of the answers given earlier (adding too much extra height to the floor level.

The way I see it I doubt if the the addition of cement board is going to reduce any chance of flex or movement of the floor so this is only really adding a nice substrate for tile adhesion purposes.

Assuming I make sure the plywood-only floor is absolutely solid with no chance of any flex then I guess I just need to make sure that the wood is sealed from moisture and has a decent surface finish that the tiles will adhere well to.

That’s all fine but I am still not sure exactly what product to paint all over the plywood to do the above jobs?
???????????????
Well, some excellent input from many people. It seems like a bit of a can of worms has been opened here. In any case many thanks to those who have provided positive input.

Regarding Mr Real Slaters input. Perhaps you could provide a more complete answer. You have mentioned using sand and cement but that is about it. Would you care to elaborate on the steps in the preparation process starting from the point where I have bare joists with nothing else? I assume I need to lay something onto the joists (maybe plywood - you did not specify what) then maybe something on top of the plywood (maybe a cement based board or somehting else - again you have provided no details). What next? mix up the sand and cement (what ratio?) and trowel onto the floor and lay tiles onto this.

DivorcedMom asked:

I live in an old farmhouse and the bathroom has plastic tiles half way up the wall and then drywall covers the remaining wall. I have installed a spout that allows for a shower head so I need to be able to still attach that to the wall. And how do I protect the wall once it’s repaired?
